This course focuses on the ANSI/AARST MA-MFLB-2023: Protocol for Conducting Measurements of Radon and Radon Decay Products in Multifamily, School, Commercial and Mixed-Use Buildings Standard and is intended to help educate you on current HUD requirements particularly in Multifamily projects.

Radon testing in multifamily buildings has gained increasing importance since a 2020 HUD policy rollout requiring testing them if HUD-financed. This policy change specifically cites the new ANSI-AARST Standard on testing multifamily buildings. It includes HUD guidance introduced since March 1, 2020. Testing protocols specific to multifamily buildings will be emphasized to help the radon professional perform a critically important and legally sensitive regimen that is integral to the ownership and property transfer of HUD-financed multifamily residences.
